HUZZAH!!! New windows at Obscura!

Filming for the second season of "Oddities" is complete and we've been given the ok to remove the film from the front windows.
And remove it we did, with a flurry of glass polishing and rearranging. Here is our current store window.

How we celebrate Easter here at Obscura

By dressing up our mascot, the Rat, as  the Easter Bunny, of course!

White chocolate bunnies were always my favorite. The ears were first to be nibbled, so the bigger the better.

Monday came on a Wednesday this week

Here are some new vignettes,  a co-mingling of the new and the already seen.
It took an extra day or two to move things around, hence the post's title.

Monday Mingling for March 21st 2011

The weekends are usually rich in new objects here at Obscura.
A good part of Monday is spent re-arranging, making new relationships between the new and the old. For those of you familiar with the shop, you might recognize some familiar items, but often they will shine brighter with a new co-mingling.
Here are some groupings you can see in the store for Monday, march 21st.

St.Pat Rat!!!!!

Happy St Patrick's Day from Obscura

This is the third dress-up event for our pet rat/mascot.
First there was a Dickensian Christmas, then an exuberant bursting through a Valentine hoop.
Now......
flamenco cross dressing for St Patty's Day!!
The jewel in her headpiece is a flattened Beck's beer bottlecap.

Photos of Photos

I'm back!!
Physically back into the shop after a three week hiatus and on to the current photo diary, huzzah!
There are many a beautiful photo tucked away, hiding behind or mingling with other, disparate objects. Here's looking at some of what we have on hand now...disclaimers after the pics.

Heartbreak Alert: the last two photos, the post-mortems of children have both sold.
